How You Can Take Civic Action to Support Our Efforts:
Complete the Emeryville Parks Survey coming out in Spring 2024
Sign petitions for nature at your neighborhood park (coming soon)
Write city councilmembers to show that our parks , including nature for children, are a priority to our community. Encourage the city to:
a) implement the urban greening park projects in the Capitol Improvement Plan (note: we recommend that these projects be modified as needed based on community input)
b) devote funds and staff time to a robust city-run children and nature program
c) apply for grant funding from the billions of dollars currently available for green infrastructure and nature projects
d) become a model city by implementing Senate Bill 1425 requirements ahead of schedule, as they pertain to rewilding, environmental justice and equity, and climate change resilience
e) prioritize parks and nature as essential infrastructure, recognizing their indispensable role in creating healthy ecosystems, clean air and water, climate resilience, and enhanced physical and mental health of our children, communities, and all Emeryville residents
