Our Vision

We envision that all children and youths growing up in Emeryville have ample and equitable opportunities to connect to nature through exploration of safe and accessible outdoor spaces.

Our Mission

Our mission is to create a network of community organizations, city departments, and engaged residents committed to creating equitable access to nature for all as both a community and environmental health strategy.  Together we will strive to provide opportunities for children to engage with nature spaces and natural materials, at the community center, schools, and at both our city parks and regional parks.

Simultaneously we will provide community outreach and engagement in order to empower local families and communities  to influence city leaders and policy makers on how to implement a robust city-run children and nature program ranging from nature based education to greening our schools and parks.

We will also advocate persistently for a comprehensive and timely urban greening plan that promotes biodiverse and native ecosystems, provides climate resilience, enhances community health, and protects our children and their futures.
